Daisy Lewis

Daisy Lewis, 89, passed away peacefully July 23, 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas. Her Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Memorial Gardens on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 10:00AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Daisy was born June 7,1937 in rural Tyler Texas. She was the youngest of six children. She and her siblings spent many hours helping their mother take care of their land. This led to her having a small garden in her backyard and becoming an expert lawn care technician. Daisy loved being outside working in her yard making sure there were no weeds anywhere.

She was a crafting queen. If she needed a new blouse she would find a pattern, buy the material, cut it out, get on her sewing machine and make a blouse that looked like she bought it from some fancy department store. She made quilts for family members, not on a machine but with her own two hands. She would knit and crochet blankets and scarves. She even used plastic grids, yarn and a needle to create Kleenex box covers. Daisy was definitely crafty.

Besides being an outstanding lawn care technician and a crafting queen, Daisy was a dedicated educator. After 6 years of marriage to Coach Albert Lewis, she decided to complete her college courses and become an educator. She went to school winter, spring, summer and fall while working part time and taking care of two children. She began her career as an educator in 1967 and retired after 36 years of service.

Daisy will be remembered for her love of family, her strong Christian faith, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Daisy is survived by her son, Anthony Lewis and his wife, Joyce; her daughter, Regina Woods; two grandchildren, Ryan Woods and his wife Taylor, Rachel Johnson and her husband Jordan. Daisy also leaves three great-grandchildren, Jayce Johson, Kendall Johnson and Norah Woods.
