Dorris Faye Minton, 91 of Snyder walked into the arms of our Heavenly Father to Heaven May 3rd, 2026 at Mitchell County Assisted Living Facility, Colorado CityDorris was born in Chilhowee, Missouri on October 26,1934 daughter of Louis and Grace Loveall of Chilhowee where she attended grammar school and graduated from Chilhowee High 1953. 

Soon after graduation she moved from Chilhowee to Lompoc, California where she met and married the only true Love of her life Rev. Clarence Minton on February 14,1954.

She is survived by two children, son David Minton & his wife Vickie of Montgomery Tx. and daughter Cathy Reed Weaver of Snyder, Tx.Survived by six Grandchildren, Lisa Kay Jump & husband Brian of Prosper, TX., Shauna Parkinson of Lubbock, Blaine Minton & wife Kelby of Hermleigh,TX., Tanner Reed of Odessa, TX., Jeremy Reed of Lubbock, TX.Eight Great Grandchildren Brienna & husband Frankie Solis of Lubbock, Tx. Janessa Minton of Lubbock, Tx & Sammy Minton of Seminole, Tx., Hailey, Addison, Ella, Jensen, Berkley Minton of Hermleigh, Tx. Dorris "known as Gam"had a special place in her heart for all her Grandchildren, and Great Great Granddaughter Emery Solis & many Nephews & Nieces.

Preceded in death by her husband Rev. Clarence Minton April 5, 1985, her father & mother, Louis & Grace Loveall, Grandson Cory Minton son of David and her seven brothers & four sisters.

Dorris was a long standing member of The First Baptist Church in Snyder and was a Worthy Matron in The Eastern Star until the Chapter closed in 2013. Dorris faced life's challenges with a loving heart, sustained by her strong faith in God.Dorris loved her family and friends more than life its self! Throughout her earlier life she made a huge difference in people's lives through her compassion, kindness, love, with a deep desire to make things better for her friends and family. She always extended a warm greeting to everyone she saw and never met a stranger. She spent countless hours serving others prior to failing health; driving older friends to their doctor's visits in Lubbock, Abilene and Big Spring or making small plates of food for close by neighbors. Dorris truly found joy in her beautiful seasonal flowers in her Front Yard & always extending a friendly wave to passing neighbors!

Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home, Snyder. Family & Friends Visitation held May 7th from 6:00-8:00pm. Celebration of Life for Dorris will be a Graveside Service held at Snyder Cemetery at 10 AM on Friday, May 08, 2026. Presiding over services will be Jerry Webb a Life Long Christian Friend called to the ministry.
