Helen Lovera Allen

Helen Lovera Sterling Allen, age 94, passed away on December 1, 2025, in San Angelo, Texas.

Helen was born April 8, 1931, to William Houston Sterling and Annie Cole Sterling of Ira. She married Loomis Laverne “Slick” Allen on December 15, 1951, in Snyder where they parented four children, Rebecca Allen Boyd, Kathy Allen May, Gary Allen, and Lane Allen.

While mothering her children, she worked numerous jobs and retired after 30 years from John Deere’s Key Brothers Implement Service in Snyder. She was a fan of Western Swing music and was an accomplished seamstress. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church in Snyder.

She is preceded in death by her husband, two sons, parents, brothers Gus Sterling, Pete Sterling, Leon Sterling, Marshall Sterling, and sisters Ilene Sterling Kruse, and Wanda Sterling West.

Survivors include her two daughters and grandchildren Trent Boyd, Laura Boyd, Sarah May Walker, Katie May Smith, Margaret May Garza, and great grandchildren Lyrick Aguirre, Lylah Torres, Brendan Morris, Sean Walker, Avyn Walker, Veronica Walker, and Saoirse Walker.

Also surviving Helen are numerous nephews and nieces including Riley Sterling, Kirby Sterling, Nancy Sterling Jones, Randy Sterling, Billy Leon Sterling, Teresa Sterling, Lesa Sterling Wallace, Denise Sterling Ives, Morgan West, Larkin West, Tomibeth Brooks, and Robin Allen.

No visitation is planned. The family will have a private graveside service to honor Helen’s long life. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Texas Boys Ranch and local animal shelters, as she held a special place in heart for her dear pets, Lincoln and Tupac.
