Herman Martinez

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Herman Martinez, who left this world on May 12, 2026 at the age of 68. He was surrounded by family and will be profoundly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

Herman Martinez was born on April 7, 1958 in Lamesa, TX to Andres and Rosa Martinez. He was known for his compassionate heart, unwavering love for family, and ability to make people feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Throughout his life, Herman dedicated himself to his career, coaching, family, faith, and community. Whether through his work as a lineman, love for softball and baseball or quiet acts of kindness, he touched countless lives in ways that will never be forgotten.

Above all else, Herman treasured family. He found the greatest joy in being a Dad/Grandpa, family gatherings, his wife’s cooking, holidays, reminiscing, and sharing his testimony. The love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those left behind.

Herman Martinez is survived by his loving wife, Norma, his children, Kristin (Jordon) Whaley, Ashley (Xavier) Ybarra, Eric (Gina) Martinez, grandchildren, Illeana, Italy, Imeri, Brielle, Roman, Jordon Jr., Teegon, Ja’Calvin, Jonah, siblings, Andrew, Albert (Sandra), Alfredo (Mary), Alex (Sandy), Linda, Lety, honorary brother, Leroy (Leti) Rodriquez, honorary nephew, Isfrain “Pancho” (Ashley) Morin, and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories shared with him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Rosa Martinez, sister, Elizabeth Martinez, grandmother, Enriqueta Ramirez, brother Arnold Martinez, aunt, Josephine “Fina” Martinez.

A service to celebrate Herman’s life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church, 1701 27th Street, Snyder, TX. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, to honor a life filled with love, strength, and beautiful memories. Burial will follow at Lamesa memorial Park in Lamesa, TX, at 5 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

A visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 PM on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in knowing that love like his never truly leaves us. Herman’s spirit will remain forever woven into the lives of those who loved him.
