Jo Ann Littlepage, 94, passed away on Sunday December 7, 2025 at home with her family. Visitation will be Tuesday December 9th from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home, and a graveside celebration of life will be held on Wednesday December 10th at 2:00 pm at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Pastor Rick Owens officiating. Jo Ann Pearson was born to Hulen and Algie (Goyer) Pearson on July 25, 1931 at their home near Savoy, Texas. She graduated from Savoy High School in 1948. She always wanted to be a teacher and her Aunt Jo graciously offered to help pay for her college education. She graduated from East Texas State Teachers College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1952. Snyder ISD was recruiting teachers and M. E. Stanfield, former Snyder ISD superintendent, was interviewing potential candidates. Jo Ann accepted a teaching job in Snyder, and Franklin Pruitt escorted her and Jo Ann Peek to Snyder in 1952 to begin their teaching careers.

Jo Ann met James Littlepage at a church social, and they were married on August 14, 1954 in Fannin County. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before his death in 2020. She loved her family and treasured spending time with them, hunting arrowheads, fishing, and going on vacations. She tended to her flower beds daily; and her beautiful rosebushes and flowers were admired by many.

Jo Ann taught second grade at Central, North and Stanfield elementary schools. She also earned a Master of Education from Sul Ross State University in 1977, using her education and experience to make learning enjoyable to her students. She helped and encouraged them to learn by reading to them every day. After thirty years of teaching, she retired in 1991.

She and James were faithful members of the First United Methodist Church in Snyder. She served as a Sunday school teacher and children’s coordinator. She also decorated the church bulletin boards, tended to the flower beds, and did laundry for the Snyder Christian School for many years.

Jo Ann and James were active members in the Historic Scurry County, Inc. and the Texas Retired Teachers Association. She also enjoyed time as a member of the Alturian Daughters Club.

Jo Ann is survived by her children, Bryan Littlepage of Kenner, Louisiana; Debra Kesseler of Houston; and Karen Waller and husband Jay of Ira; sister Louis Hill and husband Butch of Seminole, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Jean Everett of Snyder; grandchildren, Kaci Lollar and husband Joel of Snyder, Krista Kesseler of Houston, Kevin Kesseler of Houston, Kyler Kesseler of College Station, Elizabeth and husband Nick Saybe of Kenner, Louisiana; and Alex Littlepage and wife Leslie of Metairie, Louisiana; great grandchildren,Tracer,Tatton, Tucker, and Wrenleigh Lollar; and Camille and Madeline Saybe; and best friend of more than seventy years, Jo Ann Peek.
