Judie Kay Reed

November 24, 1943 — May 23, 2026

Fredricksburg

Judie Reed joyfully entered the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 23, 2026 at the age of 82. While her family grieves her absence, they celebrate that she is now with the Lord and free from pain or sorrow.

Above all else, Judie loved Jesus. Her daily walk with the Lord was the foundation of her life and the source of her strength, kindness, and joy. She treasured time spent in prayer and in the presence of God, and her faith touched everyone who knew her. Judie also shared her heart for the Lord through her devotional book, His Heart to Yours, reflecting her desire to encourage others in their relationship with Christ.

Judie was a devoted mother to her four children: Angela Witherspoon and husband Tracy of Lubbock; Mindy Hamilton and husband Jeff of Art; Lance Aldridge and wife JoEllen of Austin; and Meredith Belk and husband David of Angleton. Though she loved many people deeply, her greatest earthly joy was being "Nana" to her 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Nothing delighted her more than gathering with her growing family, praying for them, cheering them on, and surrounding them with unconditional love.

Born in Lubbock Texas on October 24,1943, Judie spent most of her childhood in Snyder, where her father, Jay Rogers, owned Jay Rogers Clothier on the town square. Following in his entrepreneurial footsteps, Judie later owned and operated Sunnyside, a women's clothing store that became a beloved part of the Snyder community.

Judie and her husband, Michael Reed, began their life together in Snyder, later spending many blessed years in Lubbock before making their home in Fredericksburg, Texas. Through every season of life, Judie's faith remained steadfast, and she continually pointed those around her toward Christ through both her words and her example.

She is also survived by her sister, Jana Jones of Georgetown and her brother, Jay Don Rogers of Denton.

Services honoring Judie's life and faith will be held at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home in Snyder on Friday June 5th at 2pm. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

The family rejoices knowing that Judie is now fully healed, fully at peace, and forever in the presence of our Savior. We would like to thank the staff of Fredericksburg Home Care, Votive Hospice, The Villages of Windcrest, and KnoppHealthcare for the care they provided Judie.
