Karla Elaine Head February 7, 1963 - November 4, 2026
Karla Elaine Head, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. She was born on February 7, 1963, in Aspermont, Texas, to William "Buddy" Allen and Lettie Laverda Franklin Allen.
Karla and her beloved husband, Ronnie Head, shared 41 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. Their years together reflected a lasting commitment to one another and to the family they loved.
From the time she was a young child, Karla had a special love for all animals, big or small. Throughout her life, she could be found loving and cuddling any animal she could get her hands on, including baby skunks, squirrels, raccoons, horses, turkeys, a few monkeys, and even a baby black bear on one occasion. In recent years, she made sure all the wildlife around her home stayed fed. She will be missed by her beloved animals, Panther, Lily, Cassie, Miley, and Zee.
She loved visiting Ruidoso and Colorado, especially when she had the opportunity to ride horseback in the mountains. She often spoke of wanting to retire in the Rockies. She was a natural-born artist and could effortlessly draw anything she could see. She showed her creativity throughout the years through drawing and woodburning, and there was never a piece of paper near her that didn't have her doodles on it. Her daughters have fond memories of her fixing their hair for special occasions, using her artistic hands to create beautiful styles. In later years, as her arthritis took away some of her abilities, she developed a love for coloring beautiful pictures. These things brought her joy and will remain part of the memories her family and friends will carry with them.
Family was at the heart of Karla's life. Her love radiated through every laugh, embrace, and conversation they shared whenever they were together. She was the loving mother of Alicia Briggs, Stacy Robertson, and Holly Adames. She was a proud grandmother to Shelby, Daisie, Bryce, Karly, and Rylan, and a cherished great-grandmother to Kace, Kingston, and Kinsley, with another great-grandchild on the way.
Karla is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ronnie Head; her children, Alicia Briggs, Stacy Robertson and her husband, Carlton, and Holly Adames and her fiancé, Jason Heffernan; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Tommy Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Buddy" Allen and Lettie Laverda Franklin Allen; her siblings, Robert Franklin Allen, Sue Howard, and Tereasa Tankersley; and her sons-in-law, John Morgan and Stephen Adames.
Karla will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the strength she showed throughout her life, and her God-given gift for compassion and true caring for others. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and everyone who knew and loved her.
