Dian Pate

July 15, 1941 — July 8, 2025

Snyder

Our beloved Nana and Mother, Dian Pate, left this world for a better place on July 8th, 2025, just before her 84th birthday. A graveside service for Mrs. Pate will be held at 10 AM Friday, July 11, 2025, at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Hospice Chaplain Kinney Robinson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

She was born on July 15, 1941, to G.W. and Mozelle Parks in Snyder, TX. She attended Snyder High School where she met the love of her life, Gene Pate. They were married for 54 years before Gene's passing in 2012.

Together they raised 3 children on their farm west of town, Jimmy Pate of Belle Chase, LA; Shauna Ward (Keith) of San Angelo, TX; and Jennifer Garcia (Allen) of San Angelo, TX, one granddaughter, Jessica Jarratt (Nathan) of Snyder, TX, and a soon to be great-grandson, Tanner Gene.

Jessica was Nana's best friend and most definitely the apple of her eye. Dian worked as an LVN after high school. She took care of many patients and enjoyed every moment. She had a special passion for taking care of people, including her family. They were never without a home cooked meal or a fan at every sporting event. She was an excellent seamstress just like her mom. She even made Shauna's wedding dress.

She also enjoyed taking care of her beloved dog, Ethel, and her donkeys that got special treats of their own. She also loved to crochet, and if you've ever had a baby or were a friend of Dian's, you most likely ended up with a specially designed handmade blanket made with lots of love.

She also loved to do things for other people. If there was ever an occasion that someone needed food, she was, "Johnny on the spot," on your front porch with a pot of beans and roast, or some other yummy something to eat. Dian had a very large family and was kin to most people in Snyder. She always enjoyed keeping in touch with her numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her generous neighbors over the years, Darden and Bonnie, Daryl and Sharon, and Jim and Kathy. The family wishes to thank her dearest lifelong friends; Patsy Taylor and Shirley Stevens. Also, her trusted housekeeper, dog feeder, and cat lady, Yolanda Gutierez. As Shirley Stevens said, "Dian was a force to be reckoned and she sure did it her way."

So, fly high Nana. Thank you for all you taught us. We know you are now pain free with a new pair of strong legs and having the most glorious reunion with your one and only, our Pops and our Maw.

A visitation will be held from 6-7 PM, Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Bell-Cpert-Seale Funeral Home.
