Mrs. Shirly Ann Miller-Newton age 90 of Fluvanna, Tx. passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Lubbock Heart Hospital. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 at The Family Ranch Cemetery with Clay Belcher officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Newton was born May 24, 1934 in Fluvanna, Tx. to Frank and Edna (Clark) Miller.
She married Doyle Newton on July 19, 1954 in Gail TX. He preceded her in death January 6, 2013. Shirly was a third generation family pioneer women. She worked cattle, cooked, drove the feed wagon to call the herd together as well as many many other duties of the Ranch life! Her faith in God carried her through a wonderful and adventurous Ranch life with her family that were first in all she believed in. She was Mama, Shirly, Gran,and Doty. We all knew the pasture we were working by the meal she was cooking. A tradition that she had pride doing. They were all great with abundance to eat. The family states she was the BEST cook in Texas, strong willed, opinionated and loved fiercely.
