Wanda Marie Short

Mrs. Wanda Marie Short, 89, of Snyder, TX, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. A funeral service for Mrs. Short will be held at 10 AM, Monday, June 15, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Snyder with Reverend Ben Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Short was born on June 22, 1936, to J.R. and Jerry (Monsey) Brinson in Cross Plains, TX. Wanda married the love of her life John Short on July 13, 1957, in Andrews, TX; they would have been married 69 years in July. Together they started the first 10 years of their life working in paint Rock and Roscoe, TX. She was a substitute teacher and a Secretary for Snyder ISD for many years. They both retired to be stay at home grandparents, and she became an avid and passionate quilter. She belonged to a couple of quilting groups, and loved to play bunko with her friends. She had a love for shopping and seeing new things and styles. Wanda loved decorating, remodeling, and maintaining her home. She was a wonderful cook.

Mrs. Short was a strong Christian woman who led a strong and devoted life to her Lord and savior. She survived 4 bouts with cancer and their treatments, which had included stem cell transplant. She spent most of her life watching her son and grandkids play sports, following their athletic careers and her husbands coaching career. She loved keeping up with her great-grandkids adventures.

Bruin Lee,

Creighton Lane,

Briggs Kyle,

Chap Summers,

and Channing Lee;

and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her,

Parents,

J.R. and Jerry Brinson;

and Sister,

Vondell Brinson.

A visitation for Mrs. Short will be held from 6-7 PM on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
