August 4, 1941 – July 6, 2026
With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Yolanda "Jolly" Rosas, who entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born on August 4, 1941, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Yolanda lived a life defined by unconditional love, unwavering strength, and a joyful spirit that earned her the nickname "Jolly" many years ago while working at the Scurry County Courthouse. It was a name that fit her perfectly. Her bright smile, infectious laughter, and welcoming heart made everyone feel like family. She truly never met a stranger.
For nearly sixty-six years, Jolly shared her life with the love of her life, Alfred Rosas. Married on July 17, 1960, they built a beautiful life together centered on faith, family, and unconditional love. Just days before they would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary, Jolly left behind not only a devoted husband, but a lifetime of treasured memories that their family will forever hold close.
Jolly had a rare gift for making people feel seen, loved, and important. Whether you had known her for decades or had just met her, she had a way of making you feel at home. She was quick with a smile, generous with her kindness, and never hesitated to stand her ground when it came to protecting those she loved. Fiercely loyal and endlessly compassionate, she was the kind of woman whose love knew no limits.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. Nothing made her happier than raising her children, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and embracing every opportunity to be the very best "Nana Jolly" she could be. Her home was filled with laughter, stories, hugs, and the unmistakable feeling that everything would somehow be okay as long as Nana was there.
Throughout her life, Yolanda faithfully served her community in several roles. She worked for the Scurry County Courthouse Tax Collector's Office for four years, served as Maintenance Secretary at Western Texas College for five years, and later dedicated many years to Snyder ISD before retiring in 2002. Wherever she worked, she left behind lasting friendships and countless smiles.
When she wasn't spending time with her family, Jolly enjoyed working puzzles, sewing, and creating memories with those she loved most. She was an avid Goodwill thrift shopper who never passed up the chance to hunt for a hidden treasure, and it seemed there was always another Temu package arriving at the front door. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and had a knack for turning an ordinary day into an adventure. She never measured her wealth by what she owned, but by the people she loved and the memories she made with them. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Those everyday moments—filled with laughter, love, and her unmistakable spirit—have now become the memories her family will cherish forever.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eva Gonzales Reyes and Jose Reyes; her stepfather, Manuel Morin; her daughter, Cherie Rosas; and her sister, Andrea "Tootsie" Reyes.
She leaves behind the love of her life and devoted husband of 65 years, Alfred Rosas; her daughter, Sandra Rosas; her son, Ronnie Rosas and wife Samantha; her brothers, Jose Reyes and Roland Reyes; and her sisters, Priscilla Martinez and Frances Silvas and husband Jesse.
She was the proud and devoted grandmother of Joshua Ortegon, Jordan Ortegon and wife Tiffany, Whitley Blount and husband Patrick, Kelsi Alarcon and husband Anthony, Ryann Rios and husband Hector, and Rance Rosas.
Her greatest delight continued with her cherished great-grandchildren: Sammi Bea, Aiden, Skyler, Aubrey, Brylee, Berkley, Brenleigh, Phoenix, Ahriah, Arianna, Asher, Ryker, Harper, and Kennedy, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.
While our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in knowing that her love did not end with her passing. It lives on in every lesson she taught, every laugh she shared, every hug she gave, and every life she touched. Her kindness will continue through the family she built, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless people blessed enough to know her.
To know Jolly was to love her. Her warmth was genuine, her heart was immeasurable, and her legacy is one of love, resilience, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family. The world is undoubtedly a little less bright without her radiant smile, but Heaven has surely gained one of its brightest lights.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home, Snyder, Texas. A Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. that evening. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Snyder, Texas.
Though we will miss her beyond words, we take comfort in knowing that the love she gave so freely will remain in our hearts forever.
Until we meet again, Nana Jolly.
